Just because you're done with school and learning is no longer required, doesn't mean you need to let your curious spark die out. And that is why Urban Elective exists. They offer a wide range of course offerings, from pop culture to arts/crafts to life hacks to niche subject learning. Whatever you’re into - they have a class for you! Courses are held at local breweries + restaurants, providing a fun, laidback learning environment. Urban Elective offers Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters, and each quarter has two terms so that you can choose the best date/time that works for you. If you aren't actively looking to learn new things, you might want to rethink your strategy and enroll at Urban Elective today.

Email registration required
A lot of the courses are held at breweries or other establishments that serve alcoholic beverages, so you must be 21+ to take an Urban Elective course
Courses open for registration 60 days prior to enrollment
Each of the classes is six weeks long, two hours per week- each week builds upon the previous week. Registration fee includes access to all six weeks!
Urban Elective hosts classes for educational/fun purposes, but our courses are not accredited
Some courses do have a materials fee, but they are detailed on each individual course page. Materials fees are due on the first day of class via check or cash to your teacher
Parking is not included, but the majority of the venues have free street parking or parking lots - they recommend arriving to class early to find parking. However, as we do not condone drinking and driving - all students are encouraged to take Lyft/Uber to class!
While most of the courses are held at breweries or other establishments that serve alcoholic beverages, there is no pressure to order an alcoholic beverage while you’re there

If you’re no longer able to take a class, please e-mail the dedicated student support e-mail address for your respective city (seattle@urbanelective.com OR losangeles@urbanelective.com) with subject line “CLASS DROP REQUEST” - one of the support representatives will assist you within 48 hours. Please note that all class sales are final; however, you may transfer name of a class to someone else

Urban Elective was founded in 2018 as a way to promote a lifetime of learning in a fun, laidback environment. They partner with local breweries + restaurants to host a variety of 6-week courses ranging anywhere from arts/crafts to pop culture to life hacks to specialized skills.

Urban Elective operates on a quarter system - every year, they have a Fall, Winter, and Spring quarter. Each quarter has two terms so that you can choose the best date/time that works for you. Then, they break for summer!
