About the Experience
San Antonio Zoo | Zoo Boo Celebration!
Presented by PNC. The 39th Annual ZOO BOO! will offer a variety of seasonal festivities for guests of all ages daily beginning September 20 through October 31, 2025.
- Any Day Admission (Adult or Child) | Includes:

- Access to all animal exhibits, including Pride Plaza, The Grottos, Asian Forest, Cat Grottos, Reptile House and many more!
- Valid any day during zoo operating hours
- Animal experiences and feeding sessions are available for an additional fee

ZOO BOO! Celebration
Zoo guests will be able to enjoy FREE trick-or-treating, live entertainment, interactive animal encounters, Fall-flavored food and drinks, plus so much more! In line with San Antonio Zoo’s commitment to securing a future for wildlife, all candy distributed during trick-or-treating is eco-friendly, containing sustainably sourced palm oil. This is part of a larger initiative to support rainforest ecosystems and the animals that rely on them.
All new ZOO BOO! events and activations include:
● Reimagined Dia de los Muertos Plaza
● Spider House activation (John and Greli Less Butterfly Rainforest) featuring interactive animal encounters with an assortment of real-life spiders
● Six brand-new sugar skull animal sculptures with candy stations
● Daily Trick-or-Treating - September 20 through October 30 (4pm- 5pm)
● ZOO BOO! Dog Day! Dog Costume Contest & dog-friendly trick-or-treating - Sunday, October 9
● Extended Zoo hours until 9:00pm and special activities on Halloween - Friday, October 31 ZOO BOO! is included with standard Zoo admission

Are kids free?
Child under 3 is free.
Social distancing and safety guidelines.
Masks are recommended indoors.
For your convenience and safety, there will be dozens of hand-sanitizer stations placed throughout the zoo courtesy of H-E-B.
Zoo Crew will be regularly cleaning and disinfecting knobs, rails, and other surfaces commonly touched throughout the zoo.
Bathroom facilities are open and will be cleaned regularly.
To make your next zoo visit the best experience possible, please plan your visit ahead of time.
Masks are required for Behind-the-Scene experiences.
Is there a dress code?
In keeping with our family-friendly atmosphere, and for health and safety reasons, San Antonio Zoo strictly enforces a dress code. Proper attire must be worn at all times, including shirts and appropriate footwear.
Clothing or tattoos with offensive language or graphics are not permitted at any time.
Examples of clothing not permitted are those displaying:
Profanity
Pornography
Graphic violence
Support for drugs and drug use
Gang symbols
Promotion of discrimination against any group
Admission may be denied if clothing or tattoos are deemed to be inappropriate by management and the Guest refuses all reasonable options. Shirts cannot be turned inside out as a solution.
Are Starbucks products allowed in the zoo?
Starbucks products are allowed in San Antonio Zoo.
What is the zoo's photo policy?
During your visit to the zoo, you may have been filmed or photographed. Your admission to the zoo serves as permission for use of these images. The commercial use of photographs, video, and film you may have taken during your visit is strictly prohibited without the express written consent of San Antonio Zoo.
Does the Zoo rent strollers and wheelchairs?
You are welcome to bring your own strollers. In order to make your visit to San Antonio Zoo as enjoyable as possible, we also offer the following rentals:
Single Stroller $15.00
Double Stroller $18.00
Wheelchair $15.00
Electric Wheelchair $40.00
Electric Wheelchair with canopy $50.00
*A valid drivers license is required for all rentals. Tax not included.
Does the Zoo close due to inclement weather?
San Antonio Zoo is open rain or shine unless the severity of the weather poses a threat to the safety of our guests and staff. If we do close due to inclement weather we will post the news on our website and San Antonio Zoo’s social media accounts. We do not offer refunds due to inclement weather, however, we can reschedule your tickets. Please email us at information@sazoo.org with RESCHEDULE TICKETS in the subject line. Please make sure to provide your order number.
Does the zoo offer senior discount?
We only have Adult and Child rates. The zoo also has the same options.

Hello,
Outside food or drink is not allowed in the zoo. Exceptions are bottled water, baby food, and formula. Ice chests, coolers, and ice bags are not allowed on zoo grounds
