Miles and miles of breathtaking ocean views, outstanding course support stations and entertainment at every mile are what makes the Tri-City Medical Center Carlsbad Marathon, Half Marathon and Double Down Challenge the best winter running event around.  With ideal winter weather conditions and a beautiful out and back, rolling, fast coastal course, you are sure to fall in love with Carlsbad! Breathe in the ocean air as you hear the sounds of encouragement from on-lookers and helpful volunteers. Once you cross that finish line, it's time to celebrate! Head to the post-race festival with fellow runners as you listen to a live band, enjoy refreshments and a celebratory beer. This January 19th, grab your running shoes and participate in the Tri-City Medical Center Carlsbad Full and Half Marathon.

USEFUL INFO:
  • Online registration is required
  • Voucher must be redeemed online before registration closes on 1/15/20 at 11:59pm
  • The half marathon and 5K are walker-friendly. The full marathon is not
  • Full marathon participants must maintain the required 13:44 minute-per-mile pace or faster to complete the marathon in 6 hours or less. Half marathon participants must maintain a 18:19 minute-per-mile pace or faster to finish the half marathon in 4 hours or less. 5K participants must maintain a 19:21-minute-per-mile pace or faster to finish the 5K in 1 hour or less.
  • All participants must pick up their bib number with timing tag attached, race shirt and ¼ zip* at the expo on Friday or Saturday during regular expo hours. If you’re unable to attend the expo, you may authorize someone to pick up your items for you. This person must come with a photocopy or electronic copy of your photo ID
  • If you are unable to pick up your bib number and timing tag before race day, you can pick it up race morning for a $20 fee
  • Bag check will be available
  • For your safety and the safety of your fellow participants, you are encouraged NOT to use iPods, MP3 players, or similar devices during the race
  • Full marathon participants must be at least 16 years old on race day and all half marathon participants be at least 12 years old on race day. All participants under 18 must have their event waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian
  • Strollers are allowed, but anyone participating with a jogging stroller must stage at the very back of the pack
  • Dogs or pets of any kind except for service animals are not allowed at the race or the expo

Runners insurance is a scam, so will never purchase again and will make sure to let friends and family know not to purchase it. The half marathon itself is well coordinated and ran.
