Everyone's a little bit Irish during the month of March and we can't think of any better way to celebrate than by taking a nice run (5K or Half Marathon) and then enjoying a few cold ones. Go Green this year at the St. Patrick's Day Half Marathon in the lovely city of El Cajon. Race organizers have embraced this celebration by creating an event that not only gives runners a chance to run on a great course, but to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in a fun way that gets the community involved. The event is definitely not only about running. After you cross the finish line, there's a festival for everyone to enjoy. Also, everyone is strongly encouraged to dress up in their best Irish-inspired outfits and participate in the "Best Costume Contest, with prizes going to 1st place and 1st runner-up. We can't forget about the Beer Garden! Runners are free with their bib and tickets will be available for anyone who would like to join in the celebration. And, if you're still feeling lucky, you can join the St. Patrick's Day 10K run on the 17th!

Located in the heart of San Diego County, the beautiful city of El Cajon will once again host the St. Patrick's Day Half Marathon. The event will begin with the beloved Green Mile run/walk which includes children and adults with mental and physical disabilities. The 5K and Half Marathon is a fast out and back course that takes you on a tour of El Cajon and some of it's cherished landmarks. All races include their own medals and a cool tech t-shirt. This is a fun themed event where costumes are encouraged and a contest will take place that the winner will take home a nice prize. The Beer Fest is the highlight of this event with local beer being poured in the beer festival area that includes live music and food trucks. This is a capped race at 2500 runners and sells out every year.
