The Comedy Store was opened in April of 1972 by comedians Sammy Shore and Rudy DeLuca. It has quite a decorated past; Johnny Carson was one of the first comics to ever perform there, and in the 1980's HBO began shooting their "Young Comedians" specials there. It's maintained a high level of comic quality through the years and continues to be a top destination to see some of the best young comics in the country.
