If you're looking for an alternative to the long lines and large crowds of big zoos then the Wildlife Learning Center is the ideal place for you. The Center offers a quiet, intimate experience that you cannot get at the larger zoos. In fact, it is more of a refuge than a zoo. Many of the more than 200 animals come from unfortunate situations. Some were confiscated from people who kept them as illegal pets, some come from pet owners who no longer could or wanted to care for them. Others were injured and could no longer survive in the wild. Regardless of the situation, WLC dedicated themselves to providing life long care to these animals that were in need of a permanent, loving home. As you stroll through the grounds you can see majestic bald eagles, monkeys, lynxes, alligators, a two-toed sloth, macaws, a gray fox, pythons and the list goes on. It is both a fun and learning experience that will provide life-long memories. Get your tickets today and be inspired by the wonders of wildlife!

Wildlife Learning Center (WLC) is a zoological park nestled in an old olive grove in San Fernando Valley, California, where visitors can appreciate and learn about animals from around the world. WLC was founded to provide public education in the life sciences, conservation, and our environment. WLC is dedicated to providing life-long care to more than 100 displaced, rescued, and zoo-born wild animals from about 50 different species who call this shady, natural environment home.

Love this place. It is small, very shaded, full of interesting and exotic animals, and has not been tainted by commercialism. It is perfect for the toddler/preschool age group as you can look at everything and experience a lot in 1-2 hours. Pack a picnic and eat lunch next to the adorable squirrel monkeys. And perhaps the best reason to check this place out is their noble cause.

Cool animals and staff! We saw everything from foxes to snakes. We also go to do an animal experience and touch a leg less lizard!
