The Business
Piero Selvaggio's Valentino is widely regarded as one of the finest Italian restaurants in the U.S. Valentino has received critical acclaim for its food, wine and service by the industry's top public including Wine Spectator, Bon Appetit, Gourmet, Food & Wine, James Beard Foundation and more.
When Valentino first opened, Italian food in America meant pasta and heavy sauces. Piero Selvaggio set out to make food cleaner, to make flavors more distinct, and to ensure that his sauces didn't drown his food. He and his chefs began to reinterpret the classics or, "reinterpret memories." This is a process that continues to this day. Selvaggio brings the freshest ingredients from farm to table, including many vegetarian and gluten free items and creates fantastic dishes that are always inventive and always stunning.
Visit our iconic restaurant in Santa Monica and see why Valentino has been a landmark dining destination and Los Angeles favorite for more than 40 years.
