More Information

The New Haven Urban Scavenger Race takes place on Saturday, October 12. Teams of two to four people sign in at the race sponsor Geronimo Tequila Bar & Southwestern Grill at 10:15 a.m., and can participate in a family-friendly costume contest. Teams then take off at 11 a.m. and return to the restaurant by 3 p.m. After the race, participants aged 21 and older get a wristband for the afterparty that includes drink specials and snacks, and everyone gets an Urban Scavenger Race T-shirt, and the winners will receive prizes.

What to bring:

Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing/costumes
Comfortable (walking/running) shoes
Camera or phone with a camera (charge your batteries!)
Pen/pencil
Water/snacks/money (as needed)

Fine Print

Registration required by Oct 9th, 2013.
Must sign waiver on the day of the race.
Team members must be 18 or older. Minors must be accompanied by a guardian, who is at least 21 years of age.
Registration may be transferred to another participant if you are not able to attend (email info@scavengerrace.com by Wednesday, 9th October 2013 for more details), but registration fees will not be refunded.

Scavenger Race organizes hunts designed to support neighborhood businesses and raise money for the Stamford and New Haven communities. Before each four-hour race, teams of two - four people or very human-looking robots arrive early to sign in and show off their family-friendly costumes to judges, who will select a winning getup. Upon receiving a clue sheet, teams venture into the city, using only public transportation, smartphones, and the kindness of strangers to track down the locations hinted at in the clues. Teams have to acquire a stamp or take a group photo at each destination, making sure to return to Hotel 0 Degrees before time is up. Afterward, participants aged 21 and older get a wristband for an after party that includes drink specials and snacks.
