The legendary Timber Ridge Ski Resort opened to the public in 1961 with only one lift, powered by a 1949 Chevy. The original skiers were all simply friends and family and they paid .50 cents to ride the lift. Now Timber Ridge is a major skiing destination in the U.S., as well as a training destination for Olympic hopefuls. The natural snow conditions are always great, and their snowmaking technology is top-notch. During the summer months, Timber Ridge is a great destination for music festivals and other open air delights.
