TEAM SISU - Monrovia

What do 8 rubber duckies, a headlamp, an ax, and a teabag all have in common? They're all part of the mandatory gear you will need to participate in the toughest physical challenge you will ever experience! The SISU Iron combines outdoor survival, fitness, creativity, and adventure into one fantastically grueling day. Instructors Daren de Heras and Matt Trinca bring to the table years of experience in competitive running, obstacle course racing, fitness boot camps, and adventure challenges, all to keep you sweating and on your toes. This event changes from year-to-year, so even seasoned competitors will be tested to the limits of their strength and endurance. The SISU Iron is so much more than just a mud run or an obstacle course. It takes power, courage, spirit, fortitude, and problem solving skills to rise to the challenge. Against the backdrop of beautiful Camp Trask in Monrovia State Park, you will find yourself face-to-face with the elements. The Angeles Forest is the perfect setting for this thrilling trial.  Populated by snakes and bears, it sure doesn't pull any punches. For your efforts you will be rewarded handsomely with custom awards given out to competitors who complete the challenge, plus plenty of extra goodies and swag. And if you really bring it, you might just get voted Ironman or Ironwoman by your fellow athletes. 

Choose from a 10-hr, 20-hr, or 30-hr challenge.  The 30-hr (a.k.a., the "Bruce Lee" level) is recommended only for experienced adventurers, who have lived a good life thus far (after all, you do sign a "death waiver" at the start).  The 10-hr (Ralph Macchio) challenge is good if you've never done an endurance event longer than 6-hours.  And the 20-hr (Chuck Norris) challenge is meant for those in between.  So if you think you have what it takes to take on Team SISU, grab your gear, and put on your game face, cause there's no room for weak links in this chain!
