The 2014 Salute Our Troops Run features a 5K and 10K run along the scenic Estrella community lakes. Set against the backdrop of the beautiful Sierra Estrella mountains, this is a family friendly walk/run with as much heart as the brave men and women who serve our country. With proceeds benefiting the Military Assistance Mission of Arizona, this is race will make you feel great, body and soul! And now for 51% off the registration price you can enroll in the 5K for $27 (originally $55), or the 10K for $31 (originally $65). It's a small price to pay for a fun day and worthy cause. All participants will receive a Commemorative New Balance Salute Our Troops Shirt, Chip Timing, Patriotic Wristband, Custom Bib, and Honor Sticker. The race will be wrapped up with a festival for the whole family and a special military ceremony to honor those who have served. The festival will include music, jumping castles, kids craft area and more. So pack up your family and friends and salute our servicemen and women with a day to remember!

A portion of race proceeds will go to benefit The Arizona Military Assistance Mission (MAM), a local charity which provides financial and moral support to Arizona residents on active military duty. Whether deployed overseas or in training stateside MAM helps provide vital resources to our troops. MAM provides grants, not loans, which provide one time emergency assistance with food, rent, mortgage, utilities, vehicle payment and insurance and the like. Developed to respond to the needs of the community, MAM acknowledges that lowest paid military may not be always be compensated accordingly and many struggle to pay bills. By offering emergency assistance, military service members can focus their energies on defending our freedom. With additional programs such as a food pantry and Holidays for Heroes, MAM ensures family members are provided for as well. These brave men and women have dedicated their lives in service of our nation. Help us give back today!
