Fear Farm
2209 N 99th Ave
Phoenix, Arizona 85037
Held on November 1-2 at the Fear Farm, fans of horror can check out a range of panels, entertainment, and films at the sixth annual FearCon. There, guests can meet celebrities such as Fred Williamson, former AFL star and actor in Quentin Taratino's From Dusk Till Dawn, and Ken Foree from the horror classic Dawn of the Dead. There will even be a special appearance by the T.A.R.D.I.S. from Doctor Who. The horror theme doesn't stop the event from being kid-friendly, though, as little ones can burn energy by navigating the zombie obstacle course. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Phoenix Shanti Group, which gives assistance to those affected by HIV and AIDS.

The Business
Founded in 2006 by Jim and Chris McLennan of Trash City Entertainment, the Phoenix FearCon began as a film festival celebrating horror movies, showing 15 indie films in a small art gallery. Today, the roster has expanded to both feature and short films, as well as live music, panel discussions and artist and vendor exhibits, all at the Fear Farm, a much larger venue than the art gallery the convention was conceived in. As the fest has grown, so has the list of celebrity guests who've attended, including stars from The Walking Dead, Quentin Tarantino's From Dusk Till Dawn, and the original Dawn of the Dead.
