In China, lantern festivals are a time of family reunion and community celebration, honoring our human ability to move through the night, providing our own light. Then, after you and your kin have run, sashayed, or strolled across the finish line, you'll join the incandescent after-party, enjoy tasty treats and write a wish on an LED balloon, which you'll let go into the darkened night sky.
