Ever get the craving to do something different? Something educational and cultural, but not enclosed inside a stuffy museum? How about paying a little visit to the small, arboreal and endangered Gibbons apes at The Gibbon Conservation Center? Considered the world's greatest natural acrobats, the Gibbons apes can leap distances of 40 feet at speeds up to 35 miles per hour. All while 200 feet above the ground! Not only can they wow you with their gymnastics, but they also are known as "the songbirds of the primate family." When they awake at dawn, they all gather and begin to sing "wake-up" songs that can be heard up to 2 miles away. The male, female and offspring even tend to sing together in harmony. This lovely morning event includes a light breakfast and a tour of the beautiful grounds and habitat, all while listening to the Gibbons beautiful songs. It's quite a special thing to witness and be a part of, and thankfully The Gibbon Conservation Center makes it possible.
