This day trip takes you by coach along the Pacific Coast Highway through Santa Cruz to Monterey, where you'll have two hours of free time in the historic waterfront district of Cannery Row to enjoy a delicious local meal, explore the shops and learn about Monterey's history by visiting a local museum or one of the many preserved historic buildings. After that, it's back on the bus to travel along the scenic 17-Mile Drive, where you'll catch glimpses of the area's famous golf courses and luxury estate homes and the pristine coastline that's been the subject of countless works of art. At Carmel-by-the-Sea, you'll have an hour of free time to explore the trendy shops, art galleries and cafés that draw artists, poets and writers before heading back to the city.
