The Business

It says a lot about Berkeley Symphony that, in 10 of the past 12 seasons, they've earned the Adventurous Programming Award from ASCAP. Berkeley Symphony is heralded for their enthusiastic and inspired spirit, and they're known for presenting major new orchestral works alongside fresh interpretations of the classics. Berkeley Symphony's mission is to champion symphonic music as a living art form, and their performances become educational, exuberant experiences that can delight all members of the Bay Area community.  They've even gone so far as to feature Frank Zappa, moving stage sets, and life-sized puppets in a critically-acclaimed production in 1984! In addition to their 4 mainstage concerts per year, performed in the world-famous Zellerbach Hall, Berkeley Symphony provides free, in-school music education programs for children in local schools. Talk about giving back to the community!
