The Bay Area Craft Classic is all about running, beer and fun. Gear up for a quick Half Marathon, or choose the 5K distance. The course is flat and fast, perfect for setting that personal record. Starting and finishing at the award-winning Craneway Pavilion, you will traverse the East Bay Trail system along Marina Bay, following historical markers, shipyeards and quaint parks out to Point Isabel and back. Enjoy magnificent views of the Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge, the spectacular Marina Bay shoreline and surrounding areas. The reward for completing the Craft Classic will be a mouth watering pint of cold craft beer, provided by the beer aficionados at East Brother Beer Co. Nice, small race. It was well organized overall and parking was super easy! Recovery food definitely could have been better and a lighter beer or beer options would have been awesome.

I recently purchased an entry for the Craft Classic Half Marathon. I think the title of the event was misleading. Many races now provide an adult beverage to the finishers and this event should not market itself as a beer event. That being said, the course was scenic, well organized (lots of aid stations with wonderful volunteers) and the finish area sponsors did a great job of providing a nice experience for the runners. Race bib and shirts were really great too. The "beer" was not remarkable and finishers only had one option and one pour. The finishers also had to walk to a seperate area away from the expo to partake in the beer in a space without any kind of atmosphere. No seating, no music, not really a whole lot of fun. I would not market this a a beer run as it is very misleading.
