Description
Experience a diver's-eye view of the underwater world of leopard sharks, bat rays and humongous sevengill sharks as you walk through the crystal clear tunnels at the Aquarium of the Bay located on San Francisco's iconic waterfront. The Aquarium is home to more than 20,000 marine animals that represent the beauty and diversity of the Northern California aquatic life. The Aquarium of the Bay features five main exhibit areas for guests to explore. "Discover the Bay" features animals that are commonly found closest to shore, including juvenile Swell Sharks, Wolf Eels and the California State fish, the Orange Garibaldi. "Under the Bay", probably the most popular exhibit, features two tunnels where you will find a variety of animals including the Giant Sea Bass, the California Sheephead, White Sturgeons and more. "Touch the Bay" offers a hands on experience where guests can touch Skates, Sea Stars and even some land dwelling animals like a Chinchilla. "Augmented Reality" allows visitors to get up close by simulating a free-dive into the ocean depths, or "touch" whales, polar bears, penguins and more. Last but not least is the "North American River Otters" exhibit. This exhibit features playful North American River Otters in a habitat that combines land and water. Hosting almost seven million guests over a nearly 20 year history, this is an experience you surely don't want to miss.
