Oh boy, there are a lot of things to do this weekend. And for all of our Christian readers, it’s definitely a special one. It’s Easter on Sunday. So there are a lot of people out and about this Easter weekend. But there is also another big event going on the same weekend, so expect downtown LA to be a little bit packed. Basically, my word of advice is go out this weekend, but don’t be surprised if it’s crowded at your favorite restaurants and especially your favorite brunch places Sunday morning. But, we should take a look at the weather.

Spring weather in LA really is the best. It’s Goldilocks weather: not too hot and not too cold. So put on your Spring best and let’s get this weekend started!
Friday Night – Movie On A WarShip
The battleship Iowa has been parked in San Pedro since she was retired from the U.S. Navy. Since then, she’s become a museum, and they totally make use of it. For Easter weekend, they’re hosting a free movie screening of Hop. It will take place on the fantail, which means it will actually be on the ship itself. There will also be an Easter Egg Hunt. Both parts are completely free, but they do encourage you to dress appropriately and blankets and outdoor chairs. You can find out more here.
Saturday Day – WonderCon
WonderCon, in case you don’t know, is the little brother to ComicCon that takes place in San Diego. It takes place the entire weekend, from Friday to Sunday at the Los Angeles Convention Center. WonderCon has all of the same amazing and awesome things that ComicCon does. There are panels, discussions, anime, autograph signings, food trucks, and lots of cosplay. The autograph signing area will include actors such as Richard Hatch and Lou Ferrigno. But it really comes down to the exhibitors from everywhere and anywhere. There will be a lot of merchandise to buy and appraise. You can even get your comic books sealed. If you want to know more, go ahead and check out their website.
Sunday – Easter Sunday
It’s Easter Sunday, so there are a lot of things going on. But I assume that most people already A) have plans with their family and/or B) already have plans. But since you’re here, I think it’s also reasonable to assume you don’t have plans. If you don’t have children and/or aren’t particularly interested in celebrating Easter, think of it as a day where you can go to the park. As a holiday, Easter tends to be celebrated one of two ways: people are at someone’s house, or people are out at restaurants and movie theaters and the like. Since most places you’d consider going on Easter are going to be crowded, just heading out into the big outdoors (even if it’s just a good-ol fashioned park) would be wonderful. It’s going to be beautiful outside at 72 degrees, so you won’t cook, and there will probably be sun and cloud-made shade. It will be perfect for a picnic.
