Things To Do This Weekend in Los Angeles – 12-4-15

Things to Do in LA This Weekend

December 4th-6th, 2015

Hey guys, it's that time again. Time to prep for the weekend. I know I've been, because I've had Loverboy's Working for the Weekend playing on repeat since 8am Monday morning. (God, the royalties he's gotten from me this week are unreal).

The first thing you need for a weekend is the weather report. This weekend's weather  is sitting at a reasonably warm 78 and 79 on Saturday and Sunday. That makes it perfect to get out and do things.

Friday Night: Ice @ Santa Monica

With the unfortunate closing of the Culver Ice Rink, a staple of ice skating in the LA area, we need to get our ice skating fix from somewhere. While they're open seven days a week until January 18th, it's still a great time to go on a Friday. Sure, the lines may be long, but they're open until midnight and it's just close enough to Main St. that when you're done, you can hop an Uber or Lyft to the bars.

Saturday: LA International Tea Festival

In between cups of hot chocolate and bottles of beer, maybe you should include a cup or two of tea. This weekend is the Los Angeles International Tea Festival, which is hosting tea vendors that source their leaves from all around the world. It will be hosted at the Japanese American National Museum, an iconic museum located in Little Tokyo. Whether you're looking for a new sleepy time tea, or something to really pump you up (yup, there are teas that do that), you'll find that new brand here.

Sunday: La Brea Tar Pits - Pleistocene Garden

Another beautiful day in the middle of "winter" in Los Angeles. We always have no idea how long these good weekends will last so it's the perfect time to go out and get some sunshine. The Pleistocene Garden at the La Brea Tar Pits is the perfect place to just go out and see things. This is a recreated garden using plant species that existed in Los Angeles long before they started paving paradise to put up a parking lot (which, considering how much they're charging now for street parking, we may need a few more of). So grab a picnic basket, explore the garden, and then go sit outside for a beautiful day in the sun.

And with that, have a good weekend Los Angeles!
